    Description

Offered for sale is what is believed to be a Model 6227 Gretsch hardshell case that was originally paired with a 1973 Streamliner guitar (pictured but not included).  It might date even earlier than that because it wears a Brooklyn--Chicago badge, prior to the factory move west.  (The Model 6227 case was offered as a purchase option with the Streamliner and Broadkaster models per the 1972 Gretsch Catalog.)  The interior label says that the case was made by Gibson and Gretsch supplier "Ess & Ess" in Brooklyn, NY, which company did not sell directly to the public.
It shows wear typical for a nearly 50 year old case--the exterior is worn in places as depicted but it is solid.  The lock and tail latch hasps are missing, but the remaining 3 work and will secure your guitar snugly. The interior flannel is in very good shape with minor fabric tear at tail--no musty odors present.  The accessory compartment door works perfectly.
The case is compatible with many thinline models such as the Streamliner, Broadkaster, and other similar models.  Its interior dimensions are:  16.5 inches wide at lower bout; 11 inches wide at waist; 12.5 inches wide at upper bout.  It is 24 inches from tail to accessory compartment and 43 inches overall.  The exterior width, consistent with thinline design, is 4 inches.
The case is a perfect candidate for exterior restoration is you have access to tolex and are so inclined.  Or just leave it as is and enjoy the vintage vibe.
Case will be stoutly and securely packed, and I ship promptly.  I expect and appreciate prompt payment.
    Thanks for your interest!
