If you just glance at this sling's condition you would probably say repro...However this is a very well cared for sling that was purchased form DCM(today CMP) and hung loosely from a rifle resulting in zero stress cracks or defects of any sort..it has also never seen and leather care products....the leather is super strong and ready for range or display,it has so much spring left to it you cannot even roll it and have it stay in place....looks as though it was made yesterday!...The R-S is Rossi Saddlery Co ....the short half(marked) has a painted brass frog being made before they changed to steel later in the war....the longer half has a buckle made of steel...I do not know if this was done at factory during a switchover period or even maybe done by the DCM folks....I find many mis matched slings out there....at any rate you will love this one no doubt....both leather keepers are also present and appear to be matching
