    Description

For sale is a 125/250V  50A Hubbel Twist-lock plug wired to a box containing two 125V 15A duplex outlets that are connected to different 125V "phases" This can be used as is or it can be disassembled into its components, the most valuable of which is the Hubbel twist-lock plug.  Seller made this outlet box when he operated a marine electrical business.  Quite handy for testing marina outlets by loading the "phases" (or"legs") separately to see if the neutral connection is compromised. If you load one phase or "leg" (for example with a heat gun) and the voltage of the other phase or "leg" increase, then the neutral connection has a higher resistance then normal or it is "open".  Open neutrals of 125V/250V outlets can put all 250V on the un-loaded "leg" destroying appliances that are designed to operate on 125V.   This situation happens frequently in marinas where boats sometimes forget to up-plug and pull out their slips causing damage to the 125V/250V dock outlets.  Periodically testing the marina outlets for such problems avoids legal problems!
