Description
Offered is a c.1890’s, 4 panel, diecut tradecard, on card stock, advertising Liebig’s meat extract. The card is diecut in the shape of a jar. The front features the company’s trademark steer. The card opens to reveal two panels promoting the benefits of the company’s products. The back has a color illustration of a Victorian woman with spoon in hand about to dole out the warmed extract. The product was named after Baron Justus von Liebig, the 19th-century German organic chemist who developed and promoted a method for industrial production of beef extract.Size: 3" X 3.25"
Condition: Generally good, with some surface scraping along the bottom of the panels.
